Coding While Black

Coding While Black is a computer science based educational program for the Black and Brown community of Baltimore. It will utilize a phased cohort structure and build teams that will solve real world problems as participants develop the skills needed to advance within the course. The ultimate goal of the program is to provide pathways into STEAM jobs for a community that has traditionally been locked out of that job sector.

What the course will cover: Computer Science Basics: Basics of Computer Architecture Understanding the Internet Development environment and computer languages Data Structures Algorithms Understanding Time and Space Complexity Web Development Basics Getting Git Front-End: Intro to HTML Intro to CSS Intro to JavaScript and the DOM Design Concepts to live by Tying it together Back-End: Data Data Data (A Review) Intro to Databases Intro to API’s Cache Money Dynamic Web Applications (Putting it all together)
